SPC Gregory Brian Rundell

Specialist Gregory Brian Rundell was born 18 April 1986 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He entered active Service in August 2005.

Upon completion of One Station Unit Training at Ft. Benning, Georgia, SPC Rundell was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion (Stryker), 27th Infantry Regiment, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Gregory enjoyed hockey and football, a fan of both the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Vikings. His hobbies included drawing, anything dealing with computers, and reading science fiction.

Gregory was a Soldier who loved to help his fellow Wolfhounds. If he had it, he would give it, no matter what it was. Gregory took great pride in his position as a vehicle commander with 1st Platoon Borzoi. After finishing his military service, his desire was to serve as a police officer.

SPC Rundell’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct Medal, Nation Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

SPC Rundell is survived by his mother, Joanne Richardson; his Godfather, Mike Niven; brothers Kyle, Wayne, Andy; sisters Andrea and Desiree; and nephews Dane and Ben.
