SGT Timothy Paul Martin

08 July 1980 – 08 February 2008 


SGT Timothy Martin was born on July 8, 1980 to Anthony Paul Martin and Lucia Maria Martin. SGT Martin enlisted in the United States Army on April 7, 2005. Upon completion of Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, he attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca’s Military Intelligence School. His military education included Arabic Training at the Defense Language Institute at Monterey California, Counter Intelligence and Human Intelligence Officer Course, and the Counter Intelligence Agent Course. His civilian education includes a Baccalaureate Degree in Biology from St. Mary’s College of California.

On August 20, 2007, SGT Martin was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry as part of the company’s Tactical Human Intelligence Team. During his time with the Raging Bulls, SGT Martin participated in pre-deployment training at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, and deployed with Bravo Company to Iraq. SGT Martin established himself as a very valuable asset in analyzing intelligence and a confidant to every Soldier in Bravo Company. SGT Timothy Martin’s selfless service to his nation was displayed in his outstanding work ethic. His dedication to his job was instrumental in helping Bravo Company to succeed in their mission. His desire to be alongside the men of Bravo Company magnified the respect he has from every Soldier and leader. He is a friend and brother to every Soldier who served with him.

SGT Martin is survived by his father Anthony Paul Martin and mother Lucia Maria Martin.

SGT Martin’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
