Remembering the Fallen

In the quiet of the chapel casting shadows beneath the cross, stands the rifle, helmet, boots and dog tags of a hero who was lost. An American soldier fighting for his country in a hostile foreign land. He left family and comforts while he proudly took his stand. He made the ultimate sacrifice defending freedom till the end. There is no greater love then this to lay down his life for a friend.

His mourners gather to hear the tributes to his courage and his life, given by those he served with in that country torn with strife. There is no answer when his name is called he is too far away, he cannot hear the salute of gunshots or the notes of Taps the bugler plays. Somewhere in the Heavens stands that soldier brave and true, he must always be remembered for doing what soldiers are called to do.
